God Has a Purpose for Where You Are

Have you ever found yourself in a season of life that felt pointless — like you were just going through the motions with no clear destination in sight?

Today's Scripture: "The Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai... saying, 'Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel... every male, head by head, from twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go to war.'" — Numbers 1:1-3

Reflection: At first glance, the book of Numbers looks like a dusty old record book — names, numbers, tribal lists. Why would God preserve something like this for thousands of years?

Because it's not really a record book. It's a story about a people in the wilderness who were never actually lost.

God didn't just rescue Israel from Egypt and then wave goodbye. He organized them. He named them. He counted them — every single one. He gave each person a tribe, a place, a role in something much bigger than themselves.

That same God is at work in your life right now.

Your current season — whether it feels productive or painfully stagnant — is not random. God is not scrambling to figure out what to do with you. He saved you for something. As Sunday's sermon reminded us, our salvation isn't just a rescue from something. It's a commissioning toward something.

The wilderness felt like wandering. But God was building a nation. He may be building something in you right now that you can't yet see.

Today's Application: Take two minutes today to ask God this simple question: "Lord, what are you building in me right now?" Then sit quietly and listen.
