Friday

It's the end of the week. You've carried this truth through five days — and now it's time to take it with you into the weekend and beyond.

Today's Scripture: "The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope." — Romans 15:12

Reflection: We started Monday with a question about belonging. We've walked through the story of five daughters who almost lost their inheritance, a Moabite widow who shouldn't have had a claim, and a Redeemer who made a way for all of them.

Here's where we land: Christ is the ultimate Redeemer. He is the fulfillment of every kinsman-redeemer law, every jubilee reset, every inheritance promise in Scripture. And because of him, the door is open — not just for the people who grew up in church, not just for those who have the right family or the right background, but for everyone.

Including the person you've been thinking about all week.

As you head into the weekend, you're not just going to rest and recharge — though that matters. You're going into spaces where people are still on the outside looking in. Your neighborhood. Your family gathering. Your Saturday morning routine. Those are mission fields, not because you have to perform, but because you carry good news.

You were once welcomed in. Now you get to do the welcoming.

When you gather with your church family on Sunday, come ready to worship the Redeemer who made it all possible — and come ready to bring someone with you.

Today's Application: This weekend, look for one opportunity to make someone feel genuinely welcomed — in your home, your community, or your church. Be the Boaz in someone's Ruth story.

A Closing Thought: Christ welcomed you in. Go and do likewise — and watch what God does with your willingness.
