Friday

You've wrestled with some hard things this week. Don't put them back on the shelf.

Today's Scripture: "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires." — Galatians 5:24

Reflection:

We've covered a lot of ground this week. We've seen that God blesses those who wrestle honestly with His Word rather than walking away from the hard parts. We've acknowledged how tempting it is to reshape God into someone more comfortable. We've named the things pulling us away from Him and taken steps to deal with them. And we've seen — in Jacob's story and perhaps in our own — that transformation leaves a mark.

Now it's Friday. The weekend is here. And the question is: what do you carry forward?

Here's the picture Paul gives us in Galatians: people who follow Jesus are people who have actively, decisively dealt with the things that pull them away from God. Not perfectly — but directionally. The question isn't whether you've arrived. The question is: can you see a trajectory? Is your life moving toward God, or has it flatlined?

As you head into the weekend, you're not just preparing for Sunday. You're living out the ongoing call to be God's people in a world that desperately needs to see what that looks like. Pray for someone caught in sin's grip. Open your Bible before you open your phone. Let the hard truths you've wrestled with this week make you more compassionate, not more critical, toward the people around you.

The wrestling doesn't stop. But neither does the blessing.

Today's Application: Before Sunday, identify one person in your life who needs prayer — not your complaints, but your actual intercession. Pray for them by name today, and ask God to open a door for you to point them toward hope.

A Closing Thought: You are not the same person you were on Monday. Keep holding on — the blessing is still unfolding.
