Tuesday

Here's an uncomfortable question: Do you actually believe God's boundaries are good for you — or do you just say you do?

Today's Scripture: "For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith." — 1 John 5:4

Reflection:

Yesterday we explored the beautiful idea that God's commands are an address, not a cage. That's a truth worth holding onto. But let's be honest — some days it doesn't feel that way at all.

Sometimes the boundary God has drawn feels like exactly the thing standing between you and what you want. The relationship you're told to walk away from. The habit you know you need to break. The path that feels narrow when everyone else seems to be walking a wider, easier road.

And in those moments, a very old lie surfaces — the same one that reached Eve in the garden: God is holding out on you. The fence is the problem. If you could just get past it, you'd really be free.

This is where faith gets tested. Not in the easy moments when obedience costs nothing, but in the hard ones when it costs something real.

What's worth remembering is that the Israelites heard that same whisper. And every time they crossed the boundaries God had set, the story didn't end in freedom — it ended in chaos, captivity, and heartbreak. The fence wasn't the problem. Leaving it was.

The victory John writes about isn't the absence of struggle. It's faith that holds on even when the fence feels frustrating.

Today's Application: Where are you most tempted to see God's design as a limitation right now? Bring that specific tension to God in prayer today — honestly, without cleaning it up first.

A Closing Thought: God can handle your honest frustration. He'd rather have your real struggle than your polished silence.
