Wednesday

Reading the Bible daily is a wonderful goal. But have you ever finished a passage and thought, “Okay…now what?”

Today's Scripture:"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." — 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Reflection: This week we began a journey through Numbers — a book that can easily feel like an information dump if we're not equipped with the right tools.

Sunday's sermon offered four questions to ask of any biblical text. They're simple. They're ancient. And they work.

1. What does the text say? Start with the plain meaning. What's actually happening on the page?

2. What does it teach me about God? Every passage reveals something about who God is — his character, his priorities, his ways. Look for him there.

3. What does it teach me about holiness? This is the practical layer. How should this passage shape the way I live, speak, work, and love?

4. What does it tell me about what God is doing? Zoom out. How does this passage fit into the larger story God is telling — and how does that story include your life right now?

These four questions turn Bible reading from information gathering into genuine transformation.

Today's Application: Pick any passage — even just three verses — and work through all four questions. You can do this in ten minutes. Try it at lunch, before bed, or first thing tomorrow morning.

A Closing Thought: God's Word was never meant to just fill your head. It was meant to shape your heart — one passage, one question, one day at a time.
