You Were Saved for Something, Not Just from Something

What if you've been thinking about your salvation too small?

Today's Scripture: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." — Ephesians 2:10

Reflection: Yesterday we sat with the hard reality of the wilderness. Today, we move toward what comes next — because the wilderness was never the destination.

Pastor Justin put it this way on Sunday: God didn't save us to hang us on a wall. He saved us because we get stuff done. We are his workmanship — his handiwork, even his masterpiece — not to be admired and left untouched, but to be useful in his hands.

Israel was saved from Egypt for a purpose: take the land, establish a nation, and be the people through whom the Messiah would come. Their salvation had a mission attached to it.

So does yours.

You weren't saved to sit back and wait for heaven. You were saved to join what God is already doing — in your home, your workplace, your neighborhood, your relationships. The good works aren't a burden added onto your salvation; they were prepared ahead of time and placed on the path in front of you.

That means your ordinary Tuesday at work, your conversation with a struggling friend, your patience with a difficult person — these can all be acts of worship when you walk in them with God.

Today's Application: Ask yourself: What is one "good work" God may have placed in front of me this week that I've been walking past? Take one step toward it today.

A Closing Thought: You are not an accident and you are not idle. You are God's intentional, purposeful creation — made to make a difference.
