Thursday

What's the thing you've quietly decided is beyond God's reach? The habit you can't break. The relationship that's too far gone. The version of yourself you've given up on?

Today's Scripture: "For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." — 2 Peter 1:8

Reflection: Sunday's sermon landed on a statement that's worth sitting with all week: "If God can raise Jesus from the dead, he can help you fill in the blank."

Think about what that actually means. The resurrection isn't just a theological fact we affirm on Easter Sunday. It's the proof that God specializes in the impossible. Death — the most final, irreversible thing in human experience — could not hold Jesus in the grave. If that's true, then your blank — whatever you wrote in that space — is not too hard for him.

He can break that addiction. He can restore that marriage. He can soften that hardened heart. He can give purpose to that season of pain. He can make you fruitful when you've felt completely dry.

The qualities Peter describes in 2 Peter 1 — virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, godliness, love — they aren't produced by trying harder. They grow in people who keep returning to the God who raises the dead. They grow in people who look back at what God has already done and say, if he did that, he can do this, too.

That's not wishful thinking. That's resurrection faith.

Today's Application: Write down your "fill in the blank" — the thing that feels impossible. Then write next to it: "But God raised Jesus from the dead." Carry that with you today.

A Closing Thought: Your story isn't finished. And the God who writes the ending has never once run out of power.
